Education
Feilding is nestled in the Manawatū knowledge hub, home to world class educational centres across all levels.
Students are well provided for every step of the way with access to an outstanding selection of early childhood centres, primary and secondary schools, and tertiary institutions all within easy reach, even for students in the outlying rural areas.
Our schools are the focal point of our communities.
They each have their own calendar of academic, sporting and social events that bring together students, staff, families and the wider community.
Fortunately, Manawatū is a great place to raise a family and offers diverse experiences inside and out of school to complement and enhance the formal New Zealand education curriculum.
With 14 early childhood centres and 29 primary schools in our district, families can be assured of a great start in life for their children.
Feilding High School is the sole secondary school in the town of Feilding. Their hostel, L J Wild House, is in the centre of the school grounds and can accommodate 180 boarding students. The school owns and manages two farms, Ngakaunui and Manawanui, for practical learning. Feilding High School has produced 10 All Blacks, with four local heroes playing currently!
Hato Paora College is a state integrated Catholic, Maori Boys’ boarding school, located rurally on the outskirts of Feilding where almost all of the Years 9 to 13 students board in the school hostel.
Massey University, UCOL and International Pacific University NZ are all internationally renowned tertiary providers and all are based in the Manawatū region just down the road in Palmerston North.
Bring your family to friendly Feilding and Manawatū for great learning experiences.
