Manawatū’s Matariki Winter Festival
Create a Light • Bring it to the Square • Light Up Feilding
This Matariki, we invite our whole community to be part of something special.
What’s Happening
As part of Feilding in Lights, everyone; families, schools, workplaces, clubs, groups, and individuals are invited to create a Matariki‑inspired lantern or light object/sculpture that reflects this year’s theme, Matariki Herenga Waka and bring it into the Feilding Town Square for display at the Feilding in Lights launch event, Saturday 27 June (5pm – 7.30pm).
How to Take Part
Please register your interest so we can plan space in the square for all contributions.

To keep everyone safe and ensure your creation lasts outdoors:
Launch Event - Saturday 27 June - Feilding Town Square, 5.00pm – 7.30pm
Bring your lantern or light sculpture to the Square and be part of a magical community moment as we Light up Feilding for Matariki.

We thank our local iwi for their guidance in ensuring our celebrations honour the cultural significance of Matariki and reflect the meaning of Matariki Herenga Waka.
