Heritage Park Rhododendron Charitable Trust

We welcome you visit to this 12 acre garden set less than 1 km north of Kimbolton at 1700 feet above sea level making it a perfect location for rhododendrons. The gardens were founded in 1969 and are home to over 2000 species and hybrid rhododendrons as well as a fine collection of trees, shrubs and many other plantings. There is a collection of some of the best NZ bred rhododendron hybrids. The best time to visit is from mid September through to early December during flowering season however the garden is very diverse and has interest all year round. The garden is run by volunteers as a charitable trust and relies on entry fees for maintenance and ongoing development. Perfect location for family outings and picnics with dogs welcome on a lead. We are an NZMCA Parkover Property and also welcome enquires for weddings and other events in the garden with a small chalet available.
