Feilding’s Powa Rugby has ab unmatched track record in International Rugby Equipment supply, including equipment supplier to the last three Rugby World Cups, New Zealand 2011, England 2015, and Japan 2019. Official equipment supplier to The British and Irish Lions and preferred supplier to the All Blacks, for the historic drawn series between these two teams in 2017.

General manager Tim Horgan says their products are known for the highest quality and longevity in the toughest of environments. Used by hundreds of Junior Rugby teams throughout winter Saturday’s in New Zealand, Senior amateur Rugby Clubs, National Professional Rugby and some of the best International teams throughout the Rugby World.

Powa Rugby has developed, at the request of  national coaches, a new piece of contact equipment in the highly competitive and combative zone of “the breakdown” area in rugby. This has been trialled at the highest level and in the recent Bledisloe Cup series, Powa Rugby has had positive feedback of the difference this has made in training to then “put into practise” on the Rugby field.

Powa Rugby has also had an approach from a professional international rugby team for a dynamic indoor scrummaging unit that has data collection, this has never been achieved before.

This in turn has engaged a collaborative project, supported by Callaghan Innovation (NZ’s Government Innovation Agency),  between Powa Rugby and Massey University; two master’s students are working with Powa Rugby on this new design.

“We will be supporting coaches and strength and conditioning staff with an indoor gym option capturing historical and current electronic data, plus more defined rugby technique development for all players.”

Powa Rugby has won the entitlement, to supply the next Women’s International Rugby World Cup tournament in New Zealand for the required Rugby Training Equipment to the twelve International sides attending.  They will also provide the design specific Field Dress for the Match and Training venues, designed and approved by World Rugby.
