2021 Celebrating Business offered four categories to enter, plus each category included four sub-categories dependent on the size- number of employees within the business.

COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTORS

Have made a significant contribution to our community

A local business who has significantly contributed to the community by way of sponsorship/internships or mentoring over the last 12 months.

 

MANAWATŪ CHAMPIONS

Have gained positive recognition for their business and our district

A local business who has been awarded or recognised on the national or international stage for its business practices/ innovation/ product/  service/customer engagement or positive promotion of the Manawatū District over the last 12 months.

 

SUSTAINABILITY IMPROVERS

Have made improvements to their environmental sustainability

A local business who through their projects or practices have moved the needle on environmental progress, education, demonstrate kaitiakitanga, leadership and commitment to a sustainable future over the last 12 months.

 

BUSINESS INNOVATORS

Have been innovators in their business

A local business who has introduced innovative practices into its workplace over the past 12 months that support its customer's and employee’s wellbeing and embraces new ways of doing business in these unpredictable times.

Structure of business per category

Four sub categories/classes exist within each of the four main categories (stated above)

• Micro (1-2 people)                                                     
• Small-Medium (3-10 people)                                                         
• Large (11+ people)                                
• Non-Profit

 

PEOPLE'S CHOICE

Every nominated business will automatically be entered into the People's Choice category, which on Monday 9 August will open to the public to vote for their favourite Friendly Faces of Feilding & District.       

This category is intended to be a bit of fun, and to provide a way for businesses to draw attention to themselves, their brand, and their product, and to leverage their digital networks. This vote will be an online vote only, the perfect way to be Celebrating Business on social media.

The business who receive the greatest number of public votes in each categories subcategory will be recognised as the People's Choice at the Gala Dinner being held on Saturday 25^th September 2021 at the Feilding Civic Centre.
