Carnivorous Plant Society at Pohangina Hall
New Zealand’s favourite psychedelic exotic jazz trio, Carnivorous Plant Society, returns to the Pohangina Hall on Wednesday 2 July for another unforgettable Arts on Tour performance.
During a break from touring, the band has been composing new music, creating hand-drawn animations, and mastering even more instruments to deliver a truly captivating live show for audiences of all ages.
Expect a unique musical journey featuring vibraphone, tuba, harmonica, pan flute, synthesisers, drums, bass and vocals, all accompanied by mesmerising animated visuals.
The trio is led by Finn Scholes, known for his work with Dave Dobbyn, Circling Sun and Hopetoun Brown, as well as composition work on The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. He is joined by acclaimed drummer and composer Alistair Deverick and extraordinary multi-instrumentalist Sean Martin-Buss.
